What are Pick-ups?
Matter from steel strips (oxides or iron particles) that sticks and builds-up on furnace rolls in CALs & CGLs due to mechanical and/or chemical interactions.

What do Pick-ups cause?
  • Pick-ups can mark/dent or form pits on the steel strip effecting product quality
  • Increase the shutdowns for machining/replacing coated rolls
