The NoStickRollsProject involves a multinational collaboration among three research centers, two steel producers and two coating manufacturers. All the partners have a proved expertise in their field of activity that allows the exploitation of the knowledge of different technological fields in order to reach the final objective of the project and the implementation of obtained results.

Its research activities are mainly related to the modelling and design of materials and products, development of innovative pilot plants, and reduction of environmental impact.
Centre for Research in Metallurgy (CRM) http://www.crmgroup.be/en is a collective research centre having as core members two major worldwide steel companies (ArcelorMittal and Tata Steel) and as associated members numerous companies producing metals, providing services to the steel industry or promoting the use of metallic products.
VDEh-Betriebsforschungsinstitut (BFI) https://www.bfi.de/ is a non-profit European research institute in the field of steelmaking technology structured into three divisions (Energy and Resource Technology, Process Technology, Measuring Techniques and Automation), and the staff of approximately 100, over 75% with university degree. BFI’s field of activities covers the entire steelmaking process chain, from charge materials to the final product.

Today Flame Spray is the holding Company of the multinational private Group Flame Spray and is a high tech surface technology leader with operations in Croatia, Italy, Hungary, and in the United States of America. Thermal Spray (APS + HVOF + Cold Spray), Diffusion coatings, Slurry coatings, Cladding and Welding are today commonly applied processes at Flame Spray.
LWK-PlasmaCeramic GmbH (LWK) https://plasmaceramic.com/?lang=en is an SME situated in Germany, established in 1964. Since then, LWK has been committed to developing and selling concepts for the protection of machine and plant components from wear and corrosion. Their products are based on water-stabilised plasma-ceramics an alternative to sintered ceramics. The water-stabilised plasma-burner has an extremely high power being the most economic one on the market. This burner can process up to 25 kg/h and therefore the production of full rolls or layers on big rolls. The plasma-ceramics have high-value thermal properties in terms of thermal stability, thermal changes, and high temperature gradients.
